Jr./Sr. High Retreats
These retreats are for Jr. and Sr. High age youth groups & will give them an opportunity to grow in their faith, build community and strengthen bonds within the group. Youth & adults will get to meet others from throughout the conference & build lasting friendships.
Each church is asked to provide adult counselors to stay in the cabin with their group, as well as participate with their youth during sessions and free time. It is best if each group can bring 2 adults each of the same gender for the youth they are bringing. This enables us to more easily abide by Safe Sanctuary guidelines. However, at a minimum, each group needs to bring one counselor* for up to 10 youth of the same gender. Example: 5 males and 10 females require 1 male counselor and one female counselor. *Counselors must be at least 4 years older than the oldest youth they will supervise.
Individuals may register for these events and will be placed in a cabin with a youth group and their supervising adults.
Jr. & Sr High retreats offered throughout the year are:
30 hour famine – held in February. This retreat gives youth an opportunity to grow in their awareness of the hunger and poverty that one billion children experience in God’s world. The 30 hour famine includes fasting from food for 30 hours while participating in thought provoking sessions that remind us that God calls us to share our resources and pray for all God’s children.
