Memphis Conference Retirees' Retreat

October 2-3, 2012

Memphis Conference Retirees' retreat is for retired lay and clergy and their spouses. This one night retreat, typically held in early October, is an opportunity to renew old friendships while enjoying the beautiful fall weather on Kentucky Lake.

Retirees check in mid-morning and move into their cabin before enjoying a delicious lunch. After lunch you can participate in some planned activities or just enjoy free time. To make sure you don't get too hungry before dinner, mid-afternoon there will be an ice cream social with lots of whipped cream, cherries and all kinds of yummy toppings. The evening will bring more group activities before the day is closed with devotional and a campfire.

The following morning will be filled with information* pertinent to retirees' and final worship with Holy Communion. Everyone will depart for home after a great lunch.

*Examples of past sessions: Pensions and Insurance, Shelia Owens; Healthful Living Tips for Senior Adults, Joyce Farnsworth. For information about the Retirees' retreat, contact Reverend Russell Gallimore at rgalli1935@aeneas.net or 731-660-1551.
