Summer Staff Applications

The chance of a lifetime: to spend an entire summer working all day long, six days a week, caring for over 200 kids of all ages and backgrounds, making sure they behave, taking few breaks, getting paid a meager salary, and, on top of all that, always having to wear your life jacket on the boats. Sounds kind of crazy from that perspective, doesn't it.

But those issues are definitely not the ones that draw our staff members here year after year (and it is a good thing). So many, summer after summer, have their lives changed just by working at camp with us for three months. They learn how much they can impact a life in just one week. And, it's fun. Do not hear us wrong-it is definitely work, hard work; but this work is a joy to do.

So, if you are interested in working from mid-May to mid-August where the work is tough, but the benefits are worth it, browse over our staff positions and see what you think. If we hire you, we will give you a place to stay, feed you, and give you a salary to help kids find God in a fun, supportive, community of people very much like you.

Deadline has passed for 2010 Summer Staff Applications.

Volunteer Counselor

Here is your way to do some work at Lakeshore if you are not old enough to work all summer or just do not have the whole summer. The volunteer counselors are a very important part of Lakeshore summer camp. These generous counselors spend weeks, without pay, caring for a cabin of campers, adding variety to each camp week. Many volunteers are our staff of the future.

To volunteer as a counselor, you must fill out the counselor information form (a link is below) and mail it to Lakeshore. We will mail the form (once we receive all of your references) to the Deans who lead the camps you check-marked on your form. If those Deans need you, they will get in touch with you. So, the earlier your form arrives, the better. You should also be certified through our Counselor Certification camp if you are under 18.
